Migration guide

Migrate from Wix to RankFlo

Take your Wix Blog content somewhere it can actually rank.

Why move from Wix

  • Wix Blog has notoriously weak SEO — page speed and structure are problems
  • Real headless API for any frontend
  • Custom domain without Wix's premium plan upcharges
  • AI content generation and real-time SEO scoring
  • Cookieless analytics
  • Self-hostable if you want full control

Things to plan for

Edge cases that come up on most Wix → RankFlo migrations.

Wix Blog export is RSS-only

Wix doesn't offer a true content export. Best path: RSS feed + manual scraping. Our importer does both.

Image hosting

Wix images are hosted on their CDN. The importer fetches each image during migration.

Step-by-step migration

4 steps. Export format: RSS feed (Wix has no proper export)

  1. 1

    Find your Wix RSS feed

Wix Blog RSS lives at yoursite.com/blog-feed.xml or similar. Save the URL.

  2. 2

    Run the Wix importer

    20–60 min

Settings → Import → Wix RSS. Provide your RSS URL. We crawl posts via the feed and scrape any missing fields directly from the live pages.

  3. 3

    Add metadata manually

RSS doesn't include all metadata (categories, custom fields). Spot-check imported posts and add tags as needed.

  4. 4

    Set up redirects

Wix uses /post/slug or /blog/slug. Use Cloudflare redirects to forward old URLs to your new RankFlo URLs.

After the migration

SEO and operational checklist — don't skip these.

  • Set up 301 redirects from old URLs to new RankFlo URLs
  • Submit your new sitemap to Google Search Console
  • Verify all internal links resolved correctly
  • Re-add SEO meta titles and descriptions where missing
  • Configure your custom domain and HTTPS
  • Run a crawler (Screaming Frog) against the new site to catch broken links
